Welcome to Rachel Carroll Studio – also called Northern Beaches Art Classes. These ART classes are for beginners to advanced. Use this opportunity to use your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.
Adult classes during the TERM
Wednesday 10-12 or 1-3pm & Friday 10-12 or Saturday from 1-3pm Adults can use Watercolour or acrylics to explore new creative ideas. morning tea will be served. Plus, all materials are provided. For 4 weeks.

Workshops in Encaustic
An Ancient technique from 800BC Greece. This wonderful experience of wax helps you create a new work on wood. Add collage, pigments, oil sticks and more. All materials included

En Plein Air workshop
Enjoy a one-day retreat at a unique location to draw and explore En plein air art making. Then return to the studio for a light lunch and your chance to use your morning sketches and paint a canvas.

Next Encaustic class is booking for 2026….
An ancient technique from 800BC made famous again by Jasper Johns in the 1950’s PopArt era. This versatile combination of wax and a hardener is perfect for mixed media artists, collage artists and print makers. Traditional Oil painters like it too for the new glow they achieve in their work.
OPTION ONE: Jan 22 – for 3 hours, 10-1pm – The $150 Beginners class – learn how it all works, what materials are needed and how to use with collage, and pigments. Start with the basics.

OPTION TWO: Jan 23-ADVANCED Class – 3 hours, 10-1pm for $200 – Re-cap on previous skills, use coloured wax and make your own coloured wax and combine shellac techniques, plus learn how to add pigments and collage.
ADULTS ART CLASSES
Print making – try the old technique of cyanotype printing. Print onto paper or fabric.
Tuesday 20th January -2026 -10-1pm for $100- all materials included plus a home baked morning tea.
TRY WATERCOLOURS – From 11-1pm on Monday 19th of January 2026- Join a class with a home baked cake and all materials included. for $65pp. Try watercolors. Be quick as classes are small, only 6 adults at a time.
